Platform Usage Guidelines

Expected conduct for users interacting with the IBBF platform.

Organization: Indian Business Betterment Foundation
Type: Usage Guidelines
Applies To: All Users & Businesses
Last Updated: 8 April 2026
Section 1

Purpose

These Platform Usage Guidelines outline the expected conduct for users interacting with the IBBF platform.

The objective is to maintain a transparent, responsible, and respectful environment where consumers and businesses can document experiences, submit complaints, share reviews, and access business information.

Section 2

Scope

These guidelines apply to all users of the platform, including:

  • Consumers submitting complaints or reviews
  • Businesses interacting with their profiles
  • Individuals accessing information published on the platform

All users are expected to follow these guidelines when using the platform.

Section 3

Responsible Use of the Platform

Users should use the platform responsibly and in good faith. When submitting complaints, reviews, or information, users should:

  • Provide accurate and truthful information
  • Submit content based on genuine experiences or verifiable records
  • Avoid misleading or exaggerated claims presented as facts
  • Respect other users and businesses

Submissions should be relevant to the business or transaction involved.

Section 4

Prohibited Activities

The following activities are not permitted on the IBBF platform:

Submitting false or intentionally misleading information
Impersonating a business or another individual
Posting abusive, threatening, or defamatory content
Using the platform for harassment or personal attacks
Submitting promotional or advertising content disguised as complaints or reviews
Sharing sensitive personal or financial information
Attempting to manipulate reviews or complaints

Users engaging in such activities may have their content restricted or archived from public view.

Section 5

Use of Documentation

Users may submit supporting materials such as invoices, receipts, screenshots, or transaction records when filing complaints or reviews. Documents should:

  • Relate directly to the matter being reported
  • Avoid disclosure of sensitive financial details where unnecessary
  • Be submitted in good faith

Documentation may provide additional context but does not automatically determine the outcome of disputes.

Section 6

Business Participation

Businesses may interact with the platform by:

  • Claiming their business profile
  • Responding to complaints or reviews
  • Submitting information during the verification process

Business responses should remain professional and relevant to the issue being discussed.

Each business is allowed one public response per complaint or review. Further communication may continue via IBBF's private back-channel.
Section 7

Content Visibility

Content submitted on the platform may become publicly visible after moderation and review for compliance with platform guidelines.

IBBF does not alter the substance of consumer submissions but may restrict or archive content that violates platform policies. Archived content is retained on the backend — it is never permanently deleted.

Section 8

Platform Integrity

IBBF reserves the right to maintain platform integrity by:

  • Reviewing submissions before publication
  • Restricting or archiving content that violates policies
  • Limiting access to users who repeatedly misuse the platform
  • Archiving inaccurate or misleading profiles where necessary

These actions are taken to ensure transparency and responsible use of the platform.

Section 9

Neutral Role of the Platform

IBBF operates as a neutral documentation platform. The platform records consumer experiences and business responses, providing transparency through documented records.

IBBF does not act as a mediator, regulator, or legal authority in disputes between consumers and businesses.

Section 10

Guideline Updates

These Platform Usage Guidelines may be updated periodically to reflect changes in platform operations or legal requirements. Users are encouraged to review this page from time to time.

Section 11

Disclaimer

IBBF maintains a neutral platform intended to promote transparency and documentation of consumer experiences and business information.
