Review Policy

This policy outlines how reviews are submitted, moderated, displayed, and managed on the IBBF platform.

Organization: Indian Business Betterment Foundation
Type: Public Policy Document
Applies To: All Users & Businesses
Last Updated: 8 April 2026
Section 1

Purpose of Reviews

Reviews on IBBF allow consumers to share their personal experience with a business to help others make informed decisions.

Reviews are informational in nature and do not determine outcomes, liability, or enforcement.

Section 2

Who Can Submit a Review

  • Any individual with first-hand experience with a business
  • Reviews must be based on genuine interaction or transaction
  • IBBF may require a valid email address for submission and moderation purposes
Section 3

What a Review Should Include

Reviews should:

  • Describe the experience clearly and factually
  • Focus on service quality, communication, timeliness, and overall experience
  • Avoid exaggeration or assumptions presented as facts

Star ratings reflect individual opinion only.

Section 4

What Is Not Allowed

Reviews must not contain:

  • Abusive, threatening, or hateful language
  • Personal attacks against individuals
  • False statements presented as facts
  • Promotional content or spam
  • Sensitive personal information (phone numbers, addresses, IDs)

Reviews violating these rules may be moderated for policy compliance. Content that violates platform guidelines will be hidden from public view — however, original records are retained on the backend for documentation purposes.

Section 5

Moderation of Reviews

IBBF reviews submissions for:

  • Language and tone
  • Relevance to the business
  • Compliance with platform policies

IBBF does not verify factual accuracy of every review and does not edit opinions. Moderation is limited to policy and language compliance.

Documented vs Non-Documented Reviews: Reviews submitted with supporting documents or evidence are marked as "Documented" on the platform. Reviews submitted without supporting evidence are marked as "Non-Documented". This distinction is displayed publicly to help consumers assess the nature of the review.
Section 6

Relationship Between Reviews and Complaints

  • Reviews and complaints are separate features
  • Reviews reflect experience; complaints are formal, documented submissions
  • A review does not replace the complaint process
  • Serious disputes should be submitted as complaints
Section 7

Business Responses to Reviews

  • Businesses may post one public response per review on their profile
  • Responses are moderated for policy compliance
  • Responses should be professional and factual
  • IBBF does not require businesses to respond to reviews
  • Further private discussion may take place via IBBF's moderated back-channel
Section 8

Public Visibility

  • Reviews may be publicly visible on business profiles
  • Reviewer personal details are not displayed publicly
  • IBBF may display review counts and averages
  • Public visibility reflects opinion and participation, not endorsement
Section 9

Removal or Restriction

IBBF reserves the right to:

  • Archive reviews that violate this policy — reviews are never permanently deleted from IBBF records
  • Hide abusive or threatening content from public view while retaining all records on the backend
  • Restrict repeat misuse of the review system
  • Take action to maintain platform integrity

All original review content is retained in IBBF's internal records for documentation and audit purposes, regardless of public visibility.

Section 10

No Endorsement

IBBF does not endorse:

  • Any review content
  • Any business, product, or service

Reviews represent the views of individual users only.

Reviews on IBBF reflect individual experiences and opinions. IBBF does not verify, endorse, or enforce review content.

Section 11

Policy Updates

This Review Policy may be updated periodically. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

IBBF is an independent, non-government platform documenting consumer experiences and business information. Content reflects user submissions and does not constitute legal advice, endorsement, or determination of fault or liability.
